Rolesville

Explore Everything Rolesville Has to Offer

Named for founding father, land owner, cotton merchant and postmaster William Roles, this 8,000-person town has all the southern charm of a small town with just enough amenities to make it comfortable. Bordered on three sides by farms, pastures and rural areas, Rolesville shares its western border with Wake Forest, with its own numerous shopping and recreation possibilities.

Rolesville is a boom town. It grew faster than any town in North Carolina between 2010 and 2016 according to the U.S. Census, and was recently named by SafeWise as one of America’s 50 safest communities. Town leaders have responded to the growth with big plans to redevelop downtown –where a new town hall building, library and a recreation center are desired. A recent land purchase will put a 116-acre park in town limits to be used for baseball, softball, soccer, football and basketball, and for possible future entertainment and educational uses.

Welcome to Rolesville

The town has three existing parks, including Main Street Park, the site of many community festivities, Mill Bridge Nature Park, with an amphitheater and greenway trails that connect to Wake Forest’s greenway system, and Rolesville Community School Park, with its baseball and softball fields. It’s here that the annual Fourth of July festivities and the Barbecue and Bands Fest are held. The town’s Rec Day – opening its baseball and softball season – is hugely popular, and includes a parade of teams down Main Street. The other big parade takes place at Christmas along the same route.

Rolesville has four public schools – including a state of the art high school built in 2013. A charter school opened in fall 2018. Thales Academy, a private junior high/high school is a recent addition. The town has its own historical museum, with a very knowledgeable proprietor, and is a short drive to Raleigh for all other needs.
